Rahner's Engagement with Bishops Extensive and Lifelong

Karl Rahner's engagement with the question of bishops in the Church was extensive and lifelong, according to Dr. Mary E. Hines.  She presented an overview of Rahner's writings about bishops entitled "Rahnerian Resources for the Renewal of Episcopal Ministry" to a Continuing Group of scholars dedicated to Rahner's theology on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the annual convention of the Catholic Theological Society of America.

Hines is Professor of Theology and Chair of the Departments of Religious Studies and Philosophy at Emmanuel College.  A prolific scholar, she is also co-editor of The Cambridge Companion to Karl Rahner.  Her list of books and articles by Rahner about bishops and the church is appended below.
